Upon arrival at Pompeii Archaeological Park, you'll meet your licensed English-speaking guide and enter the site with priority access. During an approximately 2½-hour guided walking tour, discover the remarkably preserved remains of the Roman city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Walk through ancient streets, explore the Forum, admire temples, theaters, bath complexes, shops, and elegant private homes while your guide brings Pompeii's fascinating history and everyday life vividly to life.
Depending on site accessibility and ongoing archaeological activities, you may also have the opportunity to explore some of Pompeii’s newest excavation areas. These recently opened sections continue to reveal extraordinary discoveries and offer fresh insight into daily life in the ancient city. Reaching an elevation of approximately 3,280 feet (1,000 meters), you'll begin the hike to the crater's edge, following a scenic trail through volcanic landscapes and unique geological formations.
